How to relax and enjoy Christmas giving

Every year we resolve to start earlier next
year and save more towards gifts, but ultimately we still find ourselves
cruising the high street at the last minute, desperate to find the perfect gift
for that aged aunt who always presents you with a box of Quality Street chocs
on Christmas morning.

Breaking the habit can be very hard,
especially when you are afraid of being the only one not presenting gifts left,
right and centre. The trick really is to start early and to keep an eye open
all year long for the perfect gift.

But its too late now, so what to do? Dont
wait until Christmas Eve! With the internet at our finger tips there is no
reason to not find pretty, unique, quality gifts at very little cost. Compare
prices as you would car and home insurance quotes.
You will find that there are some great deals available, and like in the case
of home insurance policies for example,
you could end up saving a packet.

Dont disregard the idea of buying in bulk
either. Look out for special bargains on items bought in large quantities and
then wrap each one differently and hand them out. Giving everyone in the office
the same mug, for example, could actually have its advantages.

Dont waste hours struggling to find
something thoughtful for the uncle who always gives you a card with a five
pound note inside. Spend the time looking for the right gifts, at the right price, for the
people who really matter to you and forget about the rest. Most people
understand that the recession is taking its toll on consumers and that spending
money on silly gifts is not the answer.

The important thing is to remember that the
reason for Christmas is not for the opportunity to receive as many presents as
possible, but instead to spread good cheer and celebrate the birth of Christ.
